MinhChau Nguyen was born in Hanoi, Vietnam.  She now lives in Washington DC, USA. MinhChau started learning drawing and painting in 2019 after long decades worked in the international development field as an economist.  She learned first to paint portraits with renowned portrait artist Maud Taber-Thomas at Glen Echo Park Arts and Culture.  She then moved to try out various ways of expressing art to find her unique style.  She is good at narrative paintings as she is a storyteller who inspires young people whom she coaches for life skills. Her portfolio reflects her attempts in portraits, still lives, flowers, and landscapes.  She is particularly interested in abstract art, and in combining the styles of master artists in one painting to tell a story.

After two years of learning, she was pleased to be selected for an exhibition at a juried show in Glen Echo for her piece of "Carousel Lush”.  This painting in gouache was inspired by Mondrian geometric image of a tree and carousel horses from Glen Echo.  She was recently commissioned by a friend for abstract art pieces to hang in her new apartment.  She plans to expand her abstract art portfolio in the future.
